Vivian Vonk is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) providing mental health therapy in Ascendant's Behavioral Health clinic in Lehi. She believes in the power of the relationship, focusing on attachment and safety while creating reparative experiences that allow for growth.
She uses therapies such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Child Parent Relationship, Insight Oriented, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She has been trained in many other types of therapy including Trauma Informed Therapy, Interpersonal Violence, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety and LGBTQ sensitivity.
Vivian has experience with chemical dependency, addiction and working with homeless young adults
She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Westminster College. In her personal life, Vivian enjoys spending time with family. She loves to camp, hike, fish, climb and anything to do with the outdoors. She’s ran over 100 half and full marathons as well as Alpine Climbed various mountains including summiting Mount Rainier.
